Sunday Snaps....

Dear bloggy friends,

I'm afraid that things still aren't too good here from a health wise point of view, but I thought I had better get together some Sunday Snaps for you, otherwise you will think that I've disappeared from the face of the earth!!  Hope you enjoy them.

I took Ruby to ballet yesterday morning, as mummy and daddy went to watch Eli at Little Dragons, as it was a grading session, and he was presented with his orange belt.

The next two  photos I took when the little ones were here yesterday afternoon.

Little Alfred had his operation early last week as soon as the family arrived back from France.  It was to be a very delicate operation, so it was wonderful to know that it had all gone well and, after three days, he was allowed back home again, although he has to take things easy for the next six weeks.

I'm delighted to say that Kelly was well enough to go to the wedding last Saturday.  Emma said that it was a beautiful, magical day, but very emotional as well.  It had been really miserable in the morning, but at  1 p.m. the sun came out and they were able to waft around the grounds of the beautiful setting which is Langdon Court.  So everything really came together for everyone.

This next photo is of my granddaughter number 1, with son in law number 1 and Kelly.

Here is Kelly with the girlies!

I thought you might like the sign on the back of the bride and groom's chairs!

Here are Emma and Eleanor.  As Emma gave the bride away, the colour of her dress had to co-ordinate with the cream of the bride's dress.

Finally, the bride and groom!

Apparently, the day before the wedding, one of the bridegroom's sons, said that he would like to say something at the wedding.  Now they didn't have a clue what he was going to say and, as he was a typical fifteen year old lad, they were a little apprehensive.  The following is what he read out.  Emma said that there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

There are poems about Mothers and poems about Dads.
Some poems make you laugh and some poems make you sad.
There are poems about birthdays and poems just for lovers,
But there are very few poems that are about a Stepmother.

She is portrayed as evil, a devil, a shrew,
With agendas aplenty and morals quite few.
There are many more names and none of them stellar,
If you want a long list of them, ask Cinderella.

She's a gold digger, a home-wrecker, really quite harried,
But that doesn't describe who my father just married.
He married a woman as warm as the sun,
Who has opened her heart to most everyone.

She is generous and kind and sweeter than sweet.
With a smile and a kind word to all that she meets.
When first I met her, I was a teen, oh so smart,
With the world at my feet and tongue sharp as a dart.

She saw through my facade and made me her friend,
And I knew then she'd be there through thick and through thin.
Stepmother's a harsh word and the French have another,
Its 'Belle Mere', and translated means Beautiful Mother.

So I say to you, my Belle Mere, my beautiful mum,
Please know that I love you, you're my very best chum.
We've all been so lucky to have you in our life,
My Dad got it right when he made you his wife.

I think you can probably imagine just how happy this made the happy couple!

Take care until we see each other again.

Your collection is simply wonderful, Ruby looks like a princess and Eli is growing up so fast.
Kelly looked so happy, I found her pictures so serene.
And Emma was simply gorgeous, I agree with Barb she looks a lot like you, but this is an ending for all daughters I suppose.
The poem was wonderful, Belle Mere sounds very appropiate indeed.
I wish you lots of good moments and I hope you will feel better soon, happy Sunday ma cherie!

Hallo, dear Thisisme! That is indeed a beautiful poem and my eyes are anything but dry at the moment.

I am also filled with emotion over the mix of happy and sad news again in this post. It is wonderful to know that Alfred's operation was apparently a success and that he is recovering. I want you to know that I have installed that picture of Alfred as my desktop background so that he is the first thing I see every day when I turn on my computer. I love him!

I find it encouraging that Kelly was well enough to attend the wedding. She certainly looked well and I hope she continues to look forward to the next special occasion and the next. There are always many reasons to keep fighting for life.

Dear friend, I wish I could wave a wand and make vanish the condition which plagues you at various times of the year. I'm sure it will soon run its course and subside.

The little ones in your family are getting bigger every time I see them - such a handsome lad and lass! Congratulations to Eli for earning his belt!

Eleanor and Emma looked absolutely stunning in these pictures and it is nice to see a good picture of Mark if I remember his name correctly.

I hope you feel much better in the days ahead, Thisisme. Blessings, hugs and smooches to you, dear friend!

As for the wedding pictures, just amazing!! Wonderful that Kelly was there and looking so lovely in bright colors. The love between these friends showed through. And as for the poem...well let's just say I needed a kleenex!

What beautiful pictures of ruby and violet :) sorry to hear you're still a bit unwell.

That was a lovely speech, what a lovely thing to say to a person.

Hope you're having a good Sunday, weather's wet gray and windy here, feeling a little under the weather.

Hugs to you x

Wow. What a beautiful poem from a stepson to his new stepmum. She should have it framed.

Your grandchildren are growing up fast. I remember seeing pictures of Ruby when she could barely walk. Doesn't time fly!

Take care and be well.

Your pictures are gorgeous as always. So sweet of the grandchildren and your girls. I enjoyed the wedding photos too. Weddings are such precious memories.
Sorry to hear your skin problem has flared up. Hope you get it under control and you can enjoy your beautiful gardens and your caravan. I have also been a little absent with getting the ranch sold. Closing is this Wednesday. Now that I'm resigned to the sale, I'll breath relief when it's over.
Take care of yourself, dear friend.

Hi Thisisme-that's a wonderful poem, hooray for that young man! There are a lot of beautiful step-parents out there who deserve to see this!

Great wedding photos, and, it is nice to see Emma's friend Kelly able to attend. All of the girls look pretty in their photo, and, Eleanor is such a precious young lady.

Oh, little Ruby...such a beautiful ballerina, and Eli-I love his shirt! He continues to get more handsome every day! Alfred looks pretty good himself-he is such a sweetie!

Now for you, my dear friend of a certain age. Please be well, I think of you daily, and, do watch facebook for you (not stalking you, tho, lol!) Stay warm, then get the sunshine you really need, and the fresh, ocean air! Take vitamin C, I know you love fruits and vegetables, tomatoes, squash, and peppers are good for you, too. See you soon! Hugs ♥

I'm so sorry, my friend, you are having to deal with the health issues. You are in my prayers.

I am glad for the other good news, little Alfred, and the wedding, and the beautiful pics of your gorgeous family.

I got a big old lump in my throat when I read that poem. Did he write it himself? Wow!

I always enjoy reading your posts and the comments of your readers. Like them, I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling on top of the world. You always seem like such a positive person that for you to even mention it at all must mean that you are extremely uncomfortable. I hope you can find relief soon.
I loved all the family pictures. I'm also glad Kelly was able to attend that wedding. And oh my. What a poem that young man shared. It sounds like they have become a family already.

Alfred is a Champion...so happy he's on the rebound!

Now let's get you back to great health in time for your Summer spree!

I have not been visiting anyone this year as we have been to CA every month since last December. I am EXHAUSTED! This month we have my 2nd daughter's wedding July 20th.

I am so sorry to hear about your skin condition. I totally understand about medication and its side effects.... I have been on and off various cholesterol medications and have been having a heck of a time with stiff joints and muscle aches...

Two years ago, I got a shingles shot and found out I was allergic to it.. The itching and swelling was intense so the doctor put me on steroids. Like you, I felt like I had jet fuel in my veins and was buzzing around getting all kinds of indoor and outdoor chores done and feeling fantastic and energized....then I threw out my back and was down for five months!

I think of you so often and send you hugs. I hope the doctors are able to find you some other drug with less side effects....you can refuse to take something if it bothers you to the point of affecting your life....

I feel for you my friend...I used to have eczema really bad but hydrocortisone really helped along with changing my diet. I discovered I was allergic to lots of things. Have you had one of those skin tests to find out what you are allergic to?

Hugs, love and blessings to you!

Kathy at SDM&M told me about you not being well so I'm thinking of you.
What super pictures of the wedding and I'm not surprised there wasn't a dry eye after that poem.

My eyes teared up as I read the beautiful poem written from the heart of this young man.
Lovely wedding photos and be well.

I have enjoyed your pictures as well. What a pretty family and the children.

Oh the poem is touching.

I got the Shingles shot and hubby but if your allergic to it. That can be just terrible.

I have stiff joints and muscles. Oh sometimes I feel 95 . Not sure how I should feel for 95.

If I sit too long blogging for one when I get up. Oh my and then after a walk. oh my.

We all have some things we have to deal with dont we.

I am the writer of that poem. Every now and then I check to see where my poetry ends up on the internet. This is one of the best places I have ever found my work!
